How could I incorporate blogs in my ideal classroom?

That's a tough one.  Personally, I don't enjoy reading other people's blogs because it is just their ideas and opinions.   Maybe if it was a friend's blog and I was catching up on what they have been up to.....MAYBE then.  Professionally, if I had the time, energy, and effort to devote to developing and maintaining a blog it could be a cool educational tool and to keep the classroom up-to-date on activities and show recent events and things.  I'm not sure how this would be better than just doing that on my school's teacher website.  Perhaps it would be good for kids to utilize the technology at home and post information and opinions on in a safe environment. My brain is producing no beneficial thoughts.
